Sports Science

Are your interested in a career in sport, perhaps as a Sports Scientist, Coach, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist? Would you like to know more about how nutrition and training help athletes to achieve their ambitions? 

Our courses provide a thorough grounding in both the practical and theoretical aspects of Sports Science within the context of the sports industry. They provide an ideal introduction to the subject for those considering studying Sport or Exercise at degree level, and are a great first step to a career in the growing sports and leisure industry. You will study modules in Anatomy, Sports, Injuries, Sports Psychology, Nutrition, Fitness Testing, Practical Sport and Physiology. Additional units for the Level 3 course include Coaching, Fitness Appraisal, Biomechanics, Practical Team Sports, Sports Massage and work experience.

You will have access to a sports science laboratory, a new gym (designed specifically for sports science classes) and a sports hall. The Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels, enabling you to apply for a degree.
