About the Course

The Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management will provide a progression route for you if you are wishing to enter the project management profession or further your career in other disciplines using project management skills. 

The Level 4 apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to be part of a cohort of learners on the same programme. The programme combines both theory and practice with the opportunity to learn new skills and then apply them. You will learn with recognised and expert project management consultants with real world project delivery experience.

The Apprenticeship cover managing project work and teams forbusinesses and other organisations. Projects can be defined and deliveredwithin different contexts, across diverseindustry sectors. They can be large or small.Every project needs to be managed toensure its success, An associate projectmanager knows what needs to beachieved, how it will be achieved, how longit will take and how much it will cost, andworks with the project team to achieve therequired outcomes.

What Will I Need

You will need:

  • To be aged 16 or older
  • To be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week with 20% of your normal working hours set aside for you to complete your training and study
  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above in English and Maths or a relevant Level 2 qualification and Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Maths

All applicants must have an interview and assessment in English and Maths to confirm that the apprenticeship is suitable for them.

Employers may also set additional entry requirements, as a prerequisite to working with them.

Accreditation

Apprenticeships are assessed by classroom study coursework and assessments along with on-the-job practicals.

What the Course leads to

Upon commencement, apprentices may become studentmembers of the Association for Project Management (APM)as the first step of professional membership. Apprenticeswill be eligible for progression to associate membershipupon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Fullmembership can be attained through further experienceand professional development.

Typical job roles in this apprenticeshipminclude; Assistant Project Manager, Junior ProjectManager and ProjectTeam Leader.
