At City and Islington College we are dedicated to ensuring students across London have the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.

We can visit your school to provide support and guidance on the many post-16 options available to students when they leave school.

Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)

We have a programme of activities we can deliver to your school to ensure your students are supported and informed about their future options. Through our strong links with local employers and external institutions, we can help you develop your students’ knowledge and understanding of potential progression routes and the world of work.Our activities are designed to support schools meet the Gatsby Benchmarks.

Parents evenings

Our careers and curriculum team can support your parent events with information, advice and guidance on life at college as well as hands on activities where appropriate.

Assemblies

Flexible for a range of year groups, assemblies are often the first introduction to college life for a student. These short sessions are a great starting point to excite and engage students in finding out more about a range of career and educational options.

Our resources will illustrate the exciting courses we offer. The connection we make with your students is important to us and we will ensure the relationship continues after the event with invitations to our open evenings.

Taster days and college visits

We are happy to offer a taster day package bespoke to you and your students. Our subject staff are on hand to deliver interactive taster sessions and you are also welcome to select any of our engagement activities to be delivered on the day. We are happy to arrange separate Taster Days if you have specific requirements.

Key stage 4 provision

Our Key Stage 4 provision aims to:  

1. Meet the DfE, Local Authority and schools’ requirements for Alternative Provision  
2. Re-engage young people disapplied from the National Curriculum at Key Stage 4  
3. Motivate young people to achieve and progress  
4. Progress students from Year 10 into Year 11, and in turn onto further education, employment or an apprenticeship.
