About the Course

Are you interested in finding out how to teach ESOL or literacy to students?

This course is aimed at anyone interested in teaching ESOL or Literacy in an FE, Adult Education or voluntary setting.

What Will I Study?

You will:

  • Become aware of types of learners and their language/ literacy needs
  • Be able to identify the differences between ESOL and Literacy teaching/learning
  • Become introduced to the four key language skills needed in terms of speaking, listening, reading and writing

What Will I Need?

The candidates must be competent users of the English Language, have an interest in the field of education and have access to a computer for online learning.

In addition to the generic entry requirements which you have for non-accredited courses, the candidates must be competent users of the English Language, have an interest in the field of education and have access to a computer for online learning.

What Can I Do After?

Upon successful course attendance and completion, you will have the opportunity to discuss progression to our teacher training courses related to either generic teaching in FE or teaching subject specialisms in English or Maths.
