Have you ever thought about a health or social care career – perhaps as a Healthcare Assistant, a Social Care Assistant, a Nurse, a Social Worker, a Midwife? Are you interested in developing your knowledge and understanding of the health and social care system? If so, then this short introductory course is for you! There is currently a huge demand for people to join a range of professions that comprise the health and social care sectors. This course is suitable for those looking to work in a range of roles or careers in health and social care, and/or who feel you have something to contribute? It is also suitable for those who have just commenced working in a health or social care role. Topics that will be covered are: • Structure and organisation of services • Care values and principles • Principles of human ‘need’ • Different professions/Career opportunities • How to qualify as a health or social care professional • Basic laws and policies relevant to health and social care • Anti-discriminator Practice/Equal Opportunities There are possible opportunities to undertake a volunteer placement in order to gain valuable ‘front-line’ experience.
You will need to be eligible to study in the UK. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to upload residency and income documents for college funding purposes.
Upon successful completion of the course you can progress into further study in this area.
