Digital Photography Introduction
About the course
This is a 10 week course, a total of 20 hours for beginners. The course covers skills needed for taking digital photos and enhancing them digitally using image manipulation software such as Photoshop.
Good computer skills and a genuine interest in digital photography and image editing.

- Functions and controls of the camera
- Loading photos onto your computer
- Editing photos with Photoshop
- Red eye removal
- Noise and scratches filters
- Brightness & contrast
- Shadows & highlights
- Converting to black and white
- Using layers
- Adding text
- Dodge & burn
Students are informally assessed on their coursework and can achieve a City and Islington Level 1 Digital Photography Certificate.
You can take one of our other introductory or intermediate media courses in Web Design, Adobe Creative Suite etc. or progress to an intermediate course in this subject area.
