Digital Marketing - Business Extended Diploma Level 3
About the course
Our Digital Marketing course supports the Business Extended Diploma with an emphasis on Digital Marketing. The course provides an overview of popular social media platforms and best practice in Business Marketing strategies. Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of marketing techniques using a variety of sources, they will also learn the skills and principles of coding which forms the basis of Digital Marketing with the encouragement to develop brand awareness through Visual Art forms using Graphics and Typography.
The knowledge and supplementary skills you will acquire are those valued by employers as the course structure includes the strategic elements of marketing with an underlying knowledge of promotion through digital mediums.
You will be taught by experienced specialist staff in the class room and following theory and practice of the subject you will receive a project brief (linked to an employer) where the criteria for each unit is embedded within the project. Detailed information and guidance is provided on the requirements to support you as targets to complete are approached.
- Grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths
- BTEC Level 2 Diploma with a Merit or Distinction and Functional Skills at Level 2
- A good reference, interview and assessment. Your commitment and interest in the subject will also be assessed during the interview process
- Prepared to undertake professional development to enhance your skills in Digital Media
Students must complete 4 mandatory units:
Unit 1: The Business Environment
Unit 2: Business Resources
Unit 3: Introduction to Marketing
Unit 4: Business Communications
Plus five units in the first year that provide an understanding of Marketing and the Digital medium. Year two will consist of nine further units taken from a selection concentrating on Digital Marketing that will also provide a deeper understanding of subjects learnt in the first year of study.
Assessment is carried out by completing an employer linked project, this project embeds all units related to the course and allows a thorough investigation on a given subject within the Business Marketing sector. The project is graded by achieving each task set out in the assignment brief that is developed by working closely with an employer.
You will work with both theoretical and practical topics that will give you both transferable practical skills and the theoretical ability to enhance your employability status with the ability to integrate the knowledge and skills you have gained from the course.
This course will support you in pursuing a career in a variety of industries where you may wish to develop further in a particular area of Business. You may also wish to study other higher level qualifications in specialist subjects such as Marketing and Digital Media or you could choose to build upon your Extended Diploma and enter University to continue studying Business at Degree level. You will find that Universities throughout the UK will value your achievement.
