ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will help you develop your practical skills in basic construction.

You will get lots of support and encouragement, including a personal tutor to help you throughout the course.

This course is suitable for people aged 16-18, and for adults with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

  • Work Experience
  • Enrichment activities

WHAT WILL I NEED?

This course is designed for vulnerable young people, aged 16-24, who have an EHCP and/or are receiving additional learning support in school.

You will need:

  • A relevant Entry Level 3 qualification

All applicants will have an initial EHCP assessment and an interview to confirm the course is suitable for them. 

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through completing a portfolio of work. Activities will involve both practical and written tasks which will be assessed through a range of methods.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

On successful completion of the course, you will be able to progress to other qualifications, such as further Level 1 and Level 2 courses. You may also progress into paid, supported or voluntary work.
