ABOUT THE COURSE

This course will help you develop a basic understanding of cookery, alongside life skills such as communication and team work skills. You will also have weekly tutorials and work experience hours throughout the year.

The course is suitable for 16-18 year olds, and for adults with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

WHAT WILL I NEED?

This course is designed for vulnerable young people, aged 16-24, who have an EHCP and/or are receiving additional learning support in school.

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

 All applicants will have an initial EHCP assessment and an interview to confirm the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through completing a portfolio of work. Activities will involve both practical and written tasks which will be assessed through a range of methods.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

On successful completion of the course, you will be able to progress to other qualifications, such as Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 courses. You may also progress into paid, supported or voluntary work.
