This course has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for registered childminders, those working in childcare settings and anyone who has non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and carers.
You will cover topics such as emergency paediatric first aid and managing paediatric illness, injuries and emergencies to help you to attain the knowledge and practical skills required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.
Due to regular changes in procedures based on updated clinical knowledge and changes in paediatric emergency care, you will need to retake this qualification within 3 years of the certification date. This ensures your knowledge and skills are maintained in line with any changes. If you do not retake the course within three years, you will no longer be qualified to administer first aid in the workplace.

This qualification is internally assessed. Some elements of the qualification must be assessed by observing the learner in practical demonstrations. The knowledge-based elements do not have to be practically assessed and could include task-based assessments. The assessment has a written component to complete the knowledge element of the course, whichwill be submitted after the two-day course has been delivered.
