This course will equip you with practical skills for a range of salon activities, with a focus on working in a barbershop.
You will learn how to work in accordance with health and safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of your clients, your colleagues, and yourself. As well as working in the college's own hairdressing salon, you will also have the opportunity to do a period of work experience. You will also work on improving your English and Maths skills.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
You will be assessed by a range of methods, including written assignments and practical assessments. Some independent study is also expected.
Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. On successful completion of the course you can develop your skills further through a range of courses in Level 2, and above, courses in hairdressing, or progress to employment.
