In the second year, you will build on the skills developed in the first year, studying contemporary world cinema, cinematic movements and other issues and debates. You will make your own short film or write a screenplay extract and undertake individual research into a director of your choice.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered can include:

  • Cinematography, mise-en-scène, editing and sound
  • Aesthetic dimensions of films, such as lighting, composition and framing
  • International film styles and traditions
