Childcare - Entry Level 3 Certificate

This qualification is designed to stimulate interest and encourage your understanding of the childcare skills and knowledge needed to care for young children.

Topics covered can include:

• Career progression 
• Self-assessment 
• Planning for the physical needs of children aged 0-3
• Introduction to creative and leisure activities for children and adults
• Respecting and valuing children
• Listening to and talking with a young child
• English and Maths

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

You will need:

• An Enhanced DBS check
• A reference from your previous school/college

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

The course is assessed throughout the year and with an end-of-course portfolio.

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Level 1 qualification or an apprenticeship.
