This course will prepare you for working with children from birth to five years of age, with knowledge of children up to seven, helping with their development and growth. You will be equipped to continue your studies at college or further afield and into an apprenticeship or full-time work with children, in a range of job roles.

The course is assessed using a variety of methods including coursework, short tests, practical observations, and reflective journals.
Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you progress to further study, such as Health and Social Care - Level 3 or Early Years Educator, which will give you a licence to work within the sector. Future career options can include working in early years settings, such as nurseries or preschools.
