This practical, work-related course will develop your skills and knowledge, and the confidence to progress towards higher level study in one of the sciences - applied, health, medical or forensic sciences.
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in science, covering biology, chemistry and physics, with emphasis on the work of scientists and technicians.

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
Assessment is continuous throughout the year and based on assignments and projects.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a specialist Level 3 Extended Diploma, or an apprenticeship.
