About

Crafted with top Plumbing and Domestic Heating employers, this Apprenticeship Standard trains in vital heating and plumbing knowledge and skills. Apprentices face a comprehensive final assessment, including a multiple-choice test, design project, practical installation 
evaluation (Underpinning Skills Assessment), and hands on application test (Applied Skills Assessment).

Aimed at new Plumbing and Domestic Heating techs, this qualification sharpens their expertise in heating and plumbing, including precise work on metallic and non-metallic pipework.

Who is it for?

These qualifications enable learners to achieve competence according to industry standards in plumbing and heating, as well as domestic heating. Learners must showcase their proficiency in performing essential skills and possess the necessary knowledge to efficiently plan, select, install, service, commission, and maintain all aspects of plumbing and domestic heating systems.

Progression

Candidates are presented with a multitude of pathways to pursue as they progress, including the possibility of assuming supervisory roles or delving into diverse fields like design and planning. Moreover, they have the freedom to choose between becoming self-employed entrepreneurs, joining established companies to further their careers or furthering their education.

End Point Assessment

The 6 month EPA includes a multiple choice exam, design project, practical installation test, practical application test and professional discussion.
