About

The Adult Care Worker apprenticeship is a great opportunity for learners to develop their skills and knowledge to help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, allowing them to have control and choice in 
their lives. Working in care makes a positive difference to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional 
or intellectual challenges. Adult Care Workers work in residential or nursing  homes, domiciliary care, day centres, a person’s own home.

This course is for:

  • New entrants to the healthcare sector depending on job role
  • Individuals working in the Care sector

Progression

Apprentices who complete the Care Worker programme will aim to gain promotion to senior roles including Lead Adult Care Workers, Key Workers and Mental Health Outreach Workers.

Training

Included in the programme:

  • BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Care (England)
  • Care Certificate
  • 6 Occupational duties (KSBs)
  • Functional Skills English and Maths Level 2 

End Point Assessment

EPA is 3 months in duration and will include a 60 question multiple choice exam, and a 45 minute professional discussion. Grades available are Pass, Merit and Distinction.
