Teaching and Lecturing
City and Islington College is a learning environment like no other. Our five world-class centres of educational excellence are the product of a £64 million building programme, the largest in the history of further education that has delivered classrooms of the future, equipped with leading edge technology.
Between them, our centres offer courses in more than 100 subjects, from Fashion to Forensic Science. This means we're able to offer a huge range of lecturing opportunities. Generally we expect candidates for teaching posts to hold an appropriate professional qualification together with a relevant, recognised teaching qualification. On top of this, we'll usually be looking for you to have proven experience as a teacher or trainer in the applicable subject.
Centre for Health, Social and Child Care
Our Centre for Health, Social and Child Care offers a wide range of full and part-time courses and has been designated a Centre of Vocational Excellence in recognition of our child care and early years education. The majority of courses are taught at the Marlborough Building but Beauty Therapy, Barbering and Hairdressing are taught at Blackstock Road where we have an excellent on-site salon.
Centre for Business, Arts and Technology
As well as being awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence status in recognition of the high quality of our ICT and Network technologies courses, our Centre for Business, Arts and Technology has an outstanding record in subjects such as Fashion, Music and Media.
Centre for Lifelong Learning
Our Centre for Lifelong Learning specialises in English for Speakers of Other Languages courses. Courses range from beginner to advanced and include Maths and IT.
Sixth Form College
The City and Islington Sixth Form College has an outstanding record of achievement for A-level students. We also offer a wide range of enrichment activities and our excellent partnerships with universities have helped hundreds of students go on to world-class institutions.
Centre for Applied Sciences
At the Centre for Applied Sciences, courses range from Introductory Diplomas to Foundation Degrees and include subjects such as Forensic Science, Ophthalmic Dispensing, Medical Sciences and Fitness Instructing.
