What we look for
What we are looking for
We’re looking for people with the desire to make a difference – to students, to the community, to colleagues, and to themselves. This means we’re looking for creative thinkers at all levels, across all five College sites. Joining City and Islington means joining an organisation with more than twenty years of outstanding success and innovation. Are you ready to challenge yourself, and us?
Teaching and Lecturing
City and Islington College is the result of a £64 million building programme – the largest in the history of Further Education in the UK. This means that all our classrooms, laboratories, gyms and salons are stocked with the most up-to-date equipment and IT. We offer more than 100 subjects across our five sites; everything from Fashion to Forensic Science.
This means we’re able to offer a huge range of lecturing opportunities. If you’re a teacher, trainer or lecturer, we expect you to hold an appropriate professional qualification together with a relevant, recognised teaching qualification. We’ll usually be looking for you to have proven experience as a teacher or trainer in a relevant subject.
Management and Business Support
Want to provide training services to businesses or the unemployed? Want to develop innovative technical solutions that allow students to study remotely? Maybe you just want to spread the word about the College and help us ensure we keep attracting the right sort of talent and the right sort of headlines. However you want to contribute, City and Islington has a range of roles in Management and Business Support across nine key areas: Finance, ICT, HR, Marketing, Estates, Exam Supervision, Management Information Services, e-Learning, and Employability and Workforce Development.
When it comes to management and business support roles, we’re looking for excellent communication skills, an ability to work well with a wide variety of people, a commitment to student and colleague safeguarding, and to the College’s core aim of providing an outstanding education to our hundreds of new and returning students.
