I came to England from Sri Lanka and spoke no English. I had to learn as quickly as possible to get a job and so I enrolled on an ESOL course at the Centre for Lifelong Learning at Finsbury Park. I enrolled on an Extended Diploma in Applied Science at the Centre for Applied Sciences (CAS), and loved it. I am now studying Genetics at Queen Mary University of London and all the hard work has paid off. The support I have received from the College for me to achieve this has been unbelievable and I cannot thank them enough."
