Destination: Dentistry at King’s College London

Spencer Carter decided to become a dentist after becoming disillusioned in his career and suffering from chronic tooth pain.

He had worked in the RAF and as a surveyor before deciding on the dramatic career change. After enrolling on the Access to Higher Education Diploma in Medicine and Medical Biosciences, a year later Spencer has progressed to King’s College London’s renowned Dental Institute and intends to become a maxillofacial surgeon.

“Studying with older students helped me make good friends on the course. There is also a great support network in place at the Centre to help you through the year. I am really looking forward to studying at King’s and I aim to put a smile on a lot of people’s faces.”
