Partner Schools

City and Islington College is increasing in popularity every year and our students come from across London. We work in partnership with local secondary schools to ensure that young people who live in the area have special opportunities to gain access to our courses.

In Islington there are six partner schools with students aged 11-16. For these students, City and Islington acts as their Sixth Form.

Our Islington Partner Schools are:

  • Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Language College
  • Holloway School
  • Islington Arts and Media School
  • Mount Carmel RC Technology College for Girls

Students from our partner schools who apply to the College are given priority for admissions. To find out more about the partnership, please read our partner school students leaflet [Download PDF file].

Islington Looked after Children

Students who are in the care of Islington Council and who apply to the College are also given priority status – wherever they are currently at school.

Islington 14-19 Strategic Partnership

The College plays a key role in the wider partnership covering all secondary schools and post 16 education providers in Islington. This partnership is responsible for delivering the government’s 14-19 strategy locally. This includes developing new qualifications for young people.

Faduma Karshe

I enjoyed all subjects covered in the course. My favourite subject was web design, says Faduma, who achieved a double B grade in Information Technology (ICT) AS/A2 Level. Her achievement is all the more impressive, as she came to the UK five years ago and spoke very little English. Faduma plans to study for a honours degree in business computing systems.
