Student Life

At City and Islington College, we call our extra-curricular activities ‘enrichment’ – this means all the clubs, societies and events that take place during the year.

These activities give you the opportunity to develop in several ways. We asked some of our students last year what enrichment they participated in and why they enjoyed it. They said that they liked:

  • Meeting different people
  • Learning new skills e.g. debating / performance / organising an event
  • Continuing with existing hobbies
  • Showing universities that there is more to me than just my studies
  • Enhancing my CV

Students say they enjoy our enrichment activities and our Careers team say that evidence of participation in enrichment activities can positively support your university application.

If you like, you can commit to one club, or many of our clubs run one-off events so you can try a range of things across the year.

Enrichment activities include:

  • Business Enterprise Club
  • Candi Youth Dance Company
  • Chemistry Club
  • Creative Writing & Performances
  • Debating Club
  • Fashion Project
