Performing Arts Courses at Sixth Form College

Welcome to the Performing Arts department at the Sixth Form College! If you choose A Level Dance, Drama, Music or Music Technology, you will be one of 170 students in our established department. We offer you the opportunity to study courses that have practical and theoretical elements to develop the knowledge and skills you have gained at GCSE level. Our students have progressed to vocational schools and universities including: Central School of Speech and Drama, London Contemporary Dance School, Leeds College of Music and University of Cambridge.

Facilities

We have state of the art facilities of industry standard to support your work.

Music:

Our main teaching room is newly equipped with the latest quad-core iMacs running Logic 9 software.

Recording studios

We have two fully equipped recording studios that are available to students. Our purpose built acoustically treated digital studio with Tascam DM 4800 desk, is linked via video to the live performance space.

Music Practice Rooms

In our music practice rooms we have a range of instruments available for you to practice on including drums, basses, guitars, pianos and keyboards.

Dance Studios

We have two dance studios with wooden sprung floors which are fitted with wall-to-wall mirrors and ballet barres. The studios are available to students to book and rehearse in outside of timetabled lessons.

Drama studio

The drama studio has a wooden sprung floor and provides a flexible performance space. Able to accommodate informal to large scale public productions, it has a full lighting rig and sound system.
