The Group Chief Executive of the Prince’s Trust has joined the Board at the leading College Group in Central London.

The role of governors is to inspire
Dame Martina has provided inspirational leadership to raise the profile and extend the reach of the Prince’s Trust, which celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2016 with a special ITV documentary 'When Ant and Dec Met The Prince: 40 Years of The Prince's Trust'.
Dame Martina is passionate about quality vocational teaching and offering students an outstanding learning experience. During her time as Chief Executive of the Prince’s Trust, the charity has directed its help to young people who are long-term unemployed, measuring its success as an organisation by how many young people they have helped off the unemployment register, by getting them into employment, training or education.
Looking forward to the future
Alastair Da Costa, Chairman at City and Islington and Westminster Kingsway Colleges, said: “The role of Board members is to provide strategic direction and support to the senior team. The sector is facing a significant period of change so it is vital that our Board continues to challenge every step of our journey, holding us to account as we create an exciting new Group. We are delighted to welcome Dame Martina Milburn to the team to help us achieve our mission.”
Dame Martina said: “In my personal and professional life I have seen first-hand the excellent work undertaken at the City and Islington and Westminster Kingsway Colleges. In fact I was so impressed by their work I recommended the College to my nephew when he was looking for somewhere to study.
“I am looking forward to joining the excellent team and helping them achieve their ambitious goals for the future.”
