What is this course about?

This new exciting course works in partnership with IRIE! Dance theatre, providing you with the experience of working with a professional dance company.

Who is this course for?

If you are a dance or a performer with some understanding or experience of dance performance training this course is ideal.  You may already be working in the industry and want to formalise your skills with a formal qualification.

What do I need to get on the course?

Entry to this performance-based course is through audition and interview.

What will I study?

You will acquire a thorough grounding in African, Caribbean, Ballet and Contemporary dance and gain the necessary skills and knowledge to build a career in areas such as dance performance, education or community arts.  The course will also explore the innovative theory and practice of fusion in the selected dance genres.

What qualification will I get?

On successful completion, you will gain a Foundation Degree in Dance awarded by London Metropolitan University.

What can I do after the course?

After successfully completing the Dance FdA, you can proceed to the final year of a BA Performing Arts Degree at London Metropolitan University or other institutions.
