How to Apply

Please note that the processes below apply to both new students and current City and Islington College students who are progressing from a lower level course.

Full-time Foundation Degree and full-time HND courses, starting in September 2013

To apply for a full-time Foundation Degree course or a full-time HND course, you will need to submit your application via UCAS

Courses awarded by our partner universities (City University London and London Metropolitan University) are listed on UCAS under the partner university, with the exception of Public Service Management FdA which is listed under City and Islington College.

For guaranteed consideration, you need to apply by:

- January 15th
- March 24th for some art and design courses (including our Fashion with Textiles FdA and Photography FdA)

After these dates, applications received until June 30th will be considered if course places are still available.

Applications received by UCAS after June 30th will be entered into Clearing. More information about Clearing can be found at www.ucas.com/students/nextsteps/clearing/index.html

Once UCAS have received your application, they will forward it to our Higher Education Admissions Team.

What happens once we receive your application from UCAS?

1. Your application will be processed by our admissions team and forwarded to the centre(s) that runs your course.

2. We will contact you by email, phone or letter to invite you arrange an interview. In some instances a decision may be made based on the information that you have put on your application, and in these cases, an interview will not be required.

3. If your application/interview is successful, we will offer you a place on the course. The offer may be unconditional or conditional depending on whether you meet the course entry criteria. More information will be given to you at this stage.

4. UCAS will then be updated to reflect your offer and they will notify you of this. You can then accept your offer via UCAS. Depending on when you applied, you will need to respond to our offer by a specific date.

Information about this will be displayed on UCAS Track

You may find our Frequently Asked Questions useful if you would like more information about the UCAS application process.
