How to Apply

Part time Foundation Degree (FdA/FdSc) and HNC/HND courses starting September 2012

You can apply directly to City and Islington College for all part time Foundation Degree and HNC/HND courses by completing an online form. You can do this by selecting a course and following the instructions.

Full time Foundation Degree courses* (FdA/FdSc) and Engineering Foundation Year starting September 2012

*Please note, for the Foundation Degree in Multimedia Games Design and the Education: Primary Pathway FdA, please apply directly to City and Islington College. Please follow the instructions given above under the heading 'Part time Foundation Degree (FdA/FdSc) and HNC/HND courses starting September 2012'.

To apply for a full time Foundation Degree course or the Engineering Foundation Year, you will need to submit your application via UCAS

You will need to submit your UCAS by the 30 June 2012 for your application to be considered in the standard UCAS admissions cycle.

Applications received by UCAS after this date will be entered into Clearing. More information about Clearing can be found at www.ucas.com/students/nextsteps/clearing/index.html

Once UCAS have received your application, they will forward it to our Higher Education Admissions Team.

What happens once we receive your application from UCAS?

1. Your application will be processed by our admissions team and forwarded to the centre(s) that runs your course.

2. We will contact you by email, phone or letter to invite you arrange an interview. In some instances a decision may be made based on the information that you have put on your application, and in these cases, and interview will not be required.

3. If your application/interview is successful, we will offer you a place on the course. The offer may be unconditional or conditional depending on whether you meet the course entry criteria. More information will be given to you at this stage.

4. UCAS will then be updated to reflect your offer they will notify you of this. You can then accept your offer via UCAS. Depending on when you applied, you will need to respond to our offer by a specific date.

5. Once you have accepted our offer via UCAS, we will contact you to invite you to enrol at the College and at the relevant partner university.

Teacher Training courses awarded by The Institute of Education, University of London

For the Diploma in Teaching Numeracy/DTLLS, the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS)/PGCE and the PGCE in Teaching ESOL/Literacy, please apply to The Institute of Education, University of London. Go to www.ioe.ac.uk and choose ‘Study’, ‘Teacher Training’, ‘PGCE Post-compulsory Courses’. Then choose the course you wish to apply for and click Apply.
