Business Administration Apprenticeship (BAA)

The Business Administration Apprenticeship (BAA) provides an excellent foundation for employment, equipping apprentices with the skills and knowledge needed for roles such as Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Data Clerk and Office Junior.

About the framework

We offer two levels to meet the differing needs of apprentices and employers from both large and small organisations:  

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)
  • Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)

An apprentice's responsibilities in the workplace will depend on employer requirements, but may include a range of tasks to support team members, such as:

  • Compiling agendas for meetings
  • Organising and supporting meetings
  • Working with Excel spreadsheets
  • Faxing and photocopying confidential documents
  • Managing diary systems
  • Planning and running projects

Apprentices will also develop their understanding and skills in the following:

  • Effective communication
  • Time management
  • Health and safety
  • Employer rights and responsibilities
