About the course

Aged 16-18 and interested in a career within professional services Environment, in areas such as, accounting, finance and banking?

This one-year course will give you a chance to develop your accounting and financial skills to prepare and enable you to develop practical skills that you will be using in your future workplace or to further your education to the next level.

 

 

 

• You will need four GCSEs including Maths and English Grade 4 or above 

• Attend a formal assessment prior to enrolment which will test your knowledge of maths and logical thinking. 

• You will need to demonstrate your interest in the subject

 

• Access to AAT Business Skills

• Award in Bookkeeping

• Award in Computerised Accounts

• Certificate in Lessons in Financial Education (Accredited by LIBF) 

• Mandatory work Experience and Enrichment (25 hours each is compulsory) 

• You will need to complete Math’s and/or English to grade 4 or above

 

All the involved qualifications end in external exams. The methods of teaching are supported by ongoing formative feedback, mock exams and self-study which will enable you to achieve full certification. 

 

There will be a compulsory work placement element to gain experience and gain successful completion of this qualification. You will be expected to participate in the college’s enrichment program.

 

Learners completing this course can progress into Level 3 study program consisting of: 

• L2 AAT Certificate in Accounting (Accredited by AAT) 

• L3 Certificate in Financial Studies Level 3 (Accredited by LIBF)

• Mandatory work Experience and Enrichment (25 hours each is compulsory) 

Learners can also progress to apprenticeships, or go directly into employment.
