Marketing and Social Media - Access to Higher Education Diploma
About the course
As a learner on this qualification in HE Diploma in Digital Marketing and Social Media you will be offered a coherent, integrated and supported year of study through which you will gain the knowledge, awareness, skills and confidence necessary for successful undergraduate study in a range of computing related progression routes.
The qualification aims:
- to provide HE progression opportunities for adults who, because of social, educational or individual circumstances, do not have the necessary qualifications;
- to give learners a general introduction to the basic concepts, methods, and key areas of knowledge within the Digital Marketing and social media disciplines taken, and offer a coherent and stimulating framework within which they can broaden their intellectual outlook and make connections between subject areas;
- to help learners to develop and consolidate the various skills required to enable them to cope successfully with the demands of undergraduate study and to become independent, self-directed learners;
- To establish a positive and supportive learning environment within which learners can build their confidence through successful learning and the sharing of their experience.
If you successfully complete the qualification you will achieve a QAA recognised Access to HE Diploma.
You should have or be working towards GCSE Maths & English at C Grade (Grade 4) or equivalent. An equivalent for example could be - Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English. You will also be invited in to do assessments in Literacy and Maths; if successful you will be invited to interview or given the opportunity to do our intensive pre-access course.
If you do not have Maths and English you must have a firm offer from the university of your choice that they are willing to accept you with just the HE Diploma (as long as you pass our assessments and obtain an offer from us.
You will learn a mixture on Digital Marketing and social media units that will aid you in your journey to university and career in this ever changing Digital industry.
Assessment will be a mixture of coursework, presentations, reports, practical and some exam based units so this will help you become more familiar with the types of assessment you will get at university.
The learner’s next progress to higher education either with City and Islington or University and study Digital Marketing. These may include some of the following areas of Degree level study: Business Marketing, Marketing and Digital Communications, Advertising and Digital Marketing, Web Media Management and a range of combined and related degrees.
