About the course

Looking to take your career in make-up one step further? With this course, you can become the expert make-up artist that you want to be.

You need to have a Level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy or Make-up and a Level 1 qualification in English.

You will develop skills across an impressive range of make-up techniques encompassing media, fashion and photographic make-up. This will include applying small, ready-made prosthetic pieces, camouflage make-up, airbrush make-up, and styling and fitting head and facial postiche (wigs and hairpieces).

You will also have the opportunity to gain skills in face and body art, and Mehndi skin decoration, as well as developing experience of instructing clients on make-up application.

On successful completion of the course, you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Make-up Artistry.

As well as providing a route into employment or self-employment as a Make-up Artist, you can also pursue study and careers in other areas of the beauty industry.

Simone Alalade-Bobb has made it to the University of Bedford to study Beauty and Spa Management Business Honours. She plans after her degree to work on cruise ships using her skills in the Caribbean.

She said: "The course has really changed my life as when I was in school I was not interested in a lot of the subjects but I really enjoy this area.
