Employer feedback

  • Tami Sneddon, ACE Accounts:

“We have had trainees from City and Islington College for the past three years and the quality has been so high that we wouldn’t look to anyone else.”
  • Maggie Rogers, Post-adoption Centre:

“Eight member of the Post-Adoption Centre PAC were able to benefit from the ITQ2 work based training provided by City and Islington College. The advantage of the scheme is that there was on-site training and very little off site work. This meant staff could remain at their desks while learning and meetings with the representative from the College were scheduled to fit that staff member’s workload.

We would not have been able to participate in this training had our staff been required to go off-site for it.  The training is motivational in that 8 members of staff have gained a qualification and have new and transferable skills.”
  • Johan Olivier, Remploy Electronics Factory:

“Since introducing college activities onto the site with regards to numeracy and literacy, there has been a vast improvement in our employees’ skills in these areas.  I’ve seen these improved skills being used in everyday situations including writing reports and dealing with personal finances.  Confidence levels have also improved considerably.”
  • Valerie Murray, HMB Solicitors:

“For several years we have been proud to work with the College to give the apprentices training and skills to enable them to advance in their careers, and the scheme has been the source of some of our most highly valued permanent staff.  We would recommend City and Islington College to other employers.”
  • Stephanie Mensah, Senior Consultant, Carrington Blake Group:

“The Apprenticeship programme is highly inspirational for all young, driven, entrepreneurial students who desire to better themselves. It’s most certainly a great way of gaining professional experience and we will continue to work alongside City and Islington College way into the future.”
  • Dino Christov, Manager, Bath Sorts Ltd:

“Not only has the apprentice learnt more whilst attending the college but has also benefited the workplace by applying those skills here.”
  • Rosa Marie Letts, Director, Accademia:

“I think that your programmes are excellent and your staff with whom we deal extremely good and patient…”

I found that my course was a creative and practical experience that allowed me to get a better understanding about working with children, says Alema, who studied on the Child Care and Education Diploma.
