My marking out and drawing have improved massively, and my hand tool confidence is at an all time high
Studying: Construction and Joinery City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate
“I enjoy studying this course because it’s fun you get to make things. The guidelines and criterion set by City and Guilds are very exact. My marking out and drawing have improved massively, and my hand tool confidence is at an all time high. On the course I have cut a range of different joints and my dovetail joints are much better than I thought I could ever do.
“I have used power tools including drill, dust extractors and biscuit jointer. I’ve also learnt to set up machines like the band saw and woodturning lathe to be within safety guidelines, and I feel confident.
“I’ve learned loads about finishing the surface including sanding, sealing and oiling my furniture, and I’ve done modern and traditional veneering.
“I’m looking forward to doing the City and Guilds Level 2.”
