Childcare - CACHE Entry Level Certificate
About the course
The Entry Level study programme is for learners who are interested in developing a career in health, social and childcare.
No previous qualifications are required for this study programme. Applicants must have a good reference, interview and assessment.
Disclosure or criminal background/police check will be applied for at start of course.
The study programme covers a range of mandatory and optional units including:
- Career Progression
- Planning for the Physical Needs of Children aged 0 – 3
- Introduction to Creative and Leisure Activities for Children and Adults
- Respecting and valuing children
- Listening to and talking with a young child
As part of your study programme you will be studying functional skills in English and Maths.
On successful completion of the study programme, you may progress onto NCFE/ CACHE Level 1 Award / Certificate and Diploma in Caring for Child / Children (QCF).

Sharareh Ariaee Shad
Sharareh Ariaee Shad is currently studying the Foundation Degree in Education: Primary Pathway.
She said: “I’m currently working as a Teaching Assistant whilst studying and am really enjoying developing my knowledge and skills to work in the sector. There are lots of opportunities to learn at the College and outside of my course I’ve also become a beatbullying mentor.”
