Barbering - Level 2 Diploma

HS1020MT

About the course

Would you like a career as an employed and/or self-employed barber? If so, this course is for you.

As well as a keen interest in barbering, you will need good communication skills and a good level of spoken and written English.

You will develop the practical skills you need to work effectively as a junior barber, including shampooing and conditioning hair, basic haircuts, blow-drying and finishing, cutting facial hair to shape, and creating basic patterns in hair.

You will also learn about conducting client consultations and health and safety.

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the salon, as well as through observations, online tests, assignments and oral questioning. You will also complete an ePortfolio.

Learners who complete this qualification are eligible to become a State Registered Graduate Barber (SRB) with The Hairdressing Council.

As well as preparing you for employment as a junior barber, you may also choose to further develop your knowledge and skills with a Level 3 qualification.
