You may be working and want to improve your skills, go for promotion or develop a personal interest. You might be returning to work or changing your career. Whatever your reason for wanting to study, we aim to have the course for you.

If you want to go to university, but don’t have the qualifications you need, take a look at the courses in our access to higher education section – we offer a range of courses equivalent to GCSE and A-levels that are specially designed for adults. If you're interested in studying a Foundation degree, visit our higher education area.

City and Islington College also offers support to individuals that have been affected by redundancy. If you are under notice or have been recently made redundant, go to our Redundancy Support pages to find out how we can help you.

Your tutors are friendly and expert in their subjects. We're here to ensure that you’ll have the best chance of success!

I've enjoyed the studying, says Leonora, an ESOL student, and it has been good for making friends. My conversational English has improved a lot and it's a very interesting subject to study. I love my teachers and we receive good support, good teaching, and there is the opportunity for one-on-one conversations in English. Even though the Centre for Lifelong Learning is an hour away from my house, I like City and Islington too much to change colleges.
