Parent FAQs

My child is in Year 11? How should I select the right sixth form or college?

Finding the right sixth form or college can be difficult. Looking at things such as success rate, progression route, Ofsted reports, support available and facilities are just some things you may want to consider looking into to help you make you the right choice.

How will my child travel to college?

All five of our Centres are within walking distance of tube, rail and bus links. For full addresses and travel information see the individual centre page. These contain details of bus routes to the sites, and maps of the local area.  There is a 16+ Oyster Card which students can get to help them with the cost of travel more information is available in the financial support section of the website.

How much will the course cost?

If your child is aged between 16-18 and a British student, refugee or asylum seeker in receipt of ASS, tuition is free. You might need to pay a small fee towards any materials used on their course, but the course itself won’t cost anything.

Will my child attending college affect my state benefits?

No, your child attending full-time study should not affect your Child Benefit and Family Tax Credit. You should ensure that the appropriate authorities are informed of the transition from school to college.

Can my child access additional learning support?

Yes. We’re committed to providing an inclusive learning environment and we aim to make the most of every student’s learning opportunities. It is important to us that students with disabilities, including learning disabilities, feel welcome and are supported throughout their time at college. For more information about support available visit our Student Support section of the website.

Are any of these courses available to adult learners?

We offer a range of courses for adult learners both part-time and full-time.Unfortunately we don't offer A Levels to adult students. You can search for adult courses on our website or speak to a course advisor on 020 7700 9200.  a full list of adult courses available are on our website's course search.
