Student Life

At City and Islington College, we believe in enriching our students’ lives, both inside and outside the classroom.

Support for Learning

We have a range of staff and resources to help you achieve your educational goals. From group tutorials and one-to-ones with your personal tutor to additional learning and disability support, we are here to help.

Support for Life

Our advisers and counsellors can provide confidential and unbiased support on practical issues such as financial worries, studying while on benefits, accommodation and immigration issues.

The College also has two nurseries, which provide limited places for students’ children aged 2-5.

If you need information and guidance on careers and your next step, there’s support for you too, including visits to universities, meeting employers at jobs fairs and developing your employability skills.

Student Voice

We are committed to listening to and acting on the views of our students. Why not become a Candi Student Union Class Rep or Centre Rep to represent your peers and take a central role in improving the College for all students?

The College is proud of the richness in diversity of our students. We believe in equality and fairness for all our students and are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all who learn here.

Canteens and Organic Café

Each of our Centres has an onsite canteen, serving a daily menu of hot and cold food, including healthy options. The canteen offers great value for money, including meals for under £2! The canteens are great social spaces as well, where you can relax with friends between classes.

Whatever your interests, there’s lots going on at the College to help you relax and enjoy yourself, try something new or do some good for others…

End-of-year Fashion Show

Join friends and family at this annual event, which brings together fashion, beauty, events management and photography students from across the College.

International Day

Join friends, staff and visitors to celebrate the College’s unique diversity – from a catwalk show of international costumes to
a tasting of food from around the world.

Raise Money for Charity

Take part in a range of fundraising events for various charities such as Action For Kids.

Supporting Others

Develop your teamwork skills and ability to help others by becoming a Beatbullying Peer Mentor or by getting involved in campaigns from ‘Quit Smoking Week’ to ‘Black History Month’.

Celebrate Success

We hold an annual Student Awards Ceremony to recognise those who have gone the extra mile in their contribution to
College life.
