Students and Staff in the canteen

Centre staff and students are really warm and friendly. Students come from many different backgrounds and cultures and there are around equal numbers of young people and adults.

Our staff are dedicated to supporting your progress, some have been with us for many years and others have come to us more recently from successful careers in industry. All take great pride and pleasure in students' achievements.

We have very good links with employers to support work-related learning and to make sure our students get the best employment opportunities.

Students are encouraged to work hard but to have fun while they learn too, so we organise outings and events throughout the year.

Oluwabunmi Ilesanmi

Oluwabunmi came to England a year after finishing at her secondary school in Nigeria and studied Health Studies BTEC National Diploma at City and Islington. We had a lot of support, she says, and if we didn't understand something, we could go to our support classes and they would definitely explain and help us to grasp it. I also found our Centre (the Centre for Applied Sciences) convenient because it provided very good facilities for the practical work on our course.
