Going to university
A high number of our students progressed to higher
education in 2009, with 1,141 students securing places at
universities. This makes us one of the country’s most
successful sixth form colleges, a particularly impressive
achievement for an inner city institution.
Profile of students progressing to higher education:
- 73% from widening participation postcodes, compared to a
national average of 25%
- 75% were from Black and Asian ethnic minority groups
- 85% were under 25 years old, of which 61% are under 19 years
old
- 15% were over 25 years old
