Student Union elections – no trees harmed!

The four shortlisted student union candidates

This year’s Student Union presidential election was different from previous years - no trees were harmed in the voting process because we conducted it entirely online. Every student was sent an email asking them to vote by clicking a link and making their choice.

A grand total of 533 votes were cast. The four candidates were Francesca Sobola, Lily Corrigan, Ama Mensah and Saskia Roach-Jones.

Time to tear open the gold envelope, remove the little piece of paper inside and read the name -pause for a moment to raise the tension...

And the winner is... Ama Mensah!

Cue the applause!

Ama will take up her presidency in September of this year.

Anthony Barker

I've enjoyed the practical side of my courses and hope to become a chartered accountant after completing my studies, says Anthony, who joined City and Islington on the Foundation Apprenticeship programme in accounting. He made excellent progress, moving onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme and passing all his external tests six months early.
