The people

We're fortunate to have a very dedicated staff team who share a commitment to excellence and ensuring all students reach their full potential. Several staff have been with us for many years and others have come to us more recently from successful careers in the field of health or child care. A common bond between staff is the shared pride and pleasure they get from students’ achievements.

Students come from a range of backgrounds and cultures and there are approximately equal numbers of young people and adults. Many of our adult students study part-time and are already in employment. We have very good links with employers to support work experience and to make sure the best employment opportunities are available to our students.

I try to enjoy everything to the best of my ability so that I don't miss out on anything when I'm learning, says Lily, who is on the Health and Social Care BTEC First Diploma. I like the Centre for Health, Social and Child Care because it's a fun place to be and there are plenty of tutors to help you get what you want when you're studying a course. They've always helped me to understand if there's any improvements I can make with my work and I've always felt able to ask for help if I'm struggling.
