22 November 2012
Connectingvibes* dance company have launched a fundraising campaign to raise the £5,000 needed to cover the air travel for their performance at the 2013 National Dance Festival of Grenada.
The dance company was originally established after receiving an invitation to perform at the 2000 National Dance Festival of Grenada. The festival features dancers from different Caribbean Islands and, on occasion, from the USA and the UK. Now, twelve years after their first performance, Connectingvibes* have been invited to perform their latest programme, ‘When in Doubt’.
The company is a partnership between IRIE! Dance Theatre and City and Islington College, where it has become the performance arm of the Foundation Degree in Dance. Dancers get to work with a range of professional artists who volunteer or accept minimal fees to enhance the ethos of the work.
All expenses will be covered for the length of the visit however, the airfares of eight company members need to be paid for. For this reason, the company have launched a fundraising campaign.
All donations, large or small, are welcome and can be given through the following website - http://www.pleasefund.us/projects/connectingvibes-and-grenada and all donations come with a series of rewards such as dance classes, t-shirts, tickets to performances and even special performances for family and friends.
